About Me

I’m a freelance composer and multi-instrumentalist who plays piano, guitar, bass, percussion, saxophone, and dabbles with whatever other instrument is in the vicinity. I graduated from Oberlin College with a degree in neuroscience, a field that I combine with music to create immersive sanctuaries that listeners can retreat into. In my opinion the best way to create powerful, encompassing experiences for the audience is to combine the music either with a theme or another medium. For example, I created two thematic collections of music, one depicting the full cycle of a day, and the other representing nighttime.

In addition, I’ve scored short films for filmmakers such as Micha Hilliard, and have even held a food-music fusion event, where each dish in a 5 course meal is eaten simultaneously with a piece of music I specially composed for it.

My next creative goal is to synthesize music with autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR). ASMR is a sensation that I have experienced my whole life and I find it endlessly fascinating. I’ve written a review paper about the subject and have been interviewed about it on ASMR University. I’ll also be blogging about the process, which can be found here on my site or ASMR University.
